Meralco Power Academy, the learning and development foundation of Meralco, and the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines (IIEE) launched the 2017 Meralco K-Ligtas (Kuryenteng Ligtas) Awards during the recently concluded National Electrical Safety Summit held at the Meralco Compound in Ortigas, Pasig City.
Meralco K-Ligtas Awards, the first awards program in the country that recognizes excellence in electrical safety practices, enters its second year of citing companies and institutions that implement outstanding programs that promote a culture of safety in the workplace, and in the community.
“This year, we will once more be looking for industry leaders who will bring the practice of electrical safety to new heights. We hope that through K-Ligtas, we will encourage other organizations to benchmark for them to improve their electrical safety practices to provide a secure environment for their employees, customers and community,” said 2017 Meralco K-Ligtas Awards Chairman, Antonio M. Abuel, Jr.
Meralco K-Ligtas Awards’ partners include organizations that share Meralco’s advocacy of promoting electrical safety in the workplace. These include the IIEE, Department of Energy, Bureau of Fire Protection, Department of Labor and Employment’s Occupational Health and Safety Center, the Professional Regulation Commission Board of Electrical Engineering, and the University of the Philippines-College of Engineering.
Interested parties may nominate their own organizations or any qualified organization until July 31, 2017. For more information on how to join, visit http://meralcopoweracademy.com/index.php/k-ligtas-awards
